DISCOVER VENETO BY BIKE

Are you planning a holiday in Veneto, or are you simply in love with your region and can’t wait to discover every corner of it—strictly by bike!

The Veneto region is increasingly recognized for the investments it is making in eco-sustainable and outdoor tourism. For this reason, many tourists—especially Germans and Dutch—choose our region for a holiday that combines sea, hills and mountains, great wine, and excellent cuisine.

There are several routes that anyone living in Veneto, or choosing to spend their holidays here, absolutely must experience. We’re about to tell you about some of the most beautiful ones. Are you ready?

Dolomites Cycle Path

Celebrated by many poets, the Dolomites are fascinating and imposing. Let’s take a two-wheeled journey around Cortina.

The route is 60 km long and runs from Calalzo di Cadore to Dobbiaco. For the first 45 km, the path climbs steadily but gently, with an average gradient of around 3%. At Cimabanche you reach the pass, followed by the final 15 km of descent. You can also choose to start your bike ride from Dobbiaco to reduce the uphill sections. Be careful though: gravel sections can be more challenging when riding uphill. This route, surrounded by greenery, is well marked so you won’t risk getting lost.

An Afternoon on the Girosile

A day trip with friends before enjoying an aperitif with a glass of Prosecco from Valdobbiadene? We have the perfect circular cycle route for you.

This cycle path is worth trying because it is easy, scenic, and suitable for everyone. With its 40 km route, it connects Treviso and Casale sul Sile, following the riverbanks along one of its most picturesque stretches. The starting point is Ponte della Gobba, a short distance from Treviso’s historic center. Along the route you first encounter Porto di Fiera, then the Silea hydroelectric power plant, and finally the Burci cemetery in Casier. From Casier, follow the cycle path along the riverbank and along gravel roads until you reach Lughignano. The villas along the way signal the approach to Casale sul Sile, and then it’s straight back toward Treviso.

Immerse Yourself in the Greenery of the Euganean Hills

In spring or during the mild days of autumn, treat yourself to a day among the Euganean Hills. A 63 km cycle route takes you through the gentle ups and downs of this famous spa area.

The itinerary is almost entirely flat: the only climb, fairly gentle, is near Bastia di Rovolon. The Euganean Hills loop passes through small villages, so you don’t necessarily need to organize a picnic—you can easily stop at local trattorias and bars along the way.

The cycling ring in the province of Padua is mostly paved, with a few gravel sections. At times, you may need to leave the cycle path and ride along short stretches of local roads. The area is highly distinctive, characterized by volcanic hills that form the perfect conical backdrop throughout the journey. Along the way, keep an eye out for villas and country houses nestled among the hills.

Whether it’s for a relaxing weekend away from the city or simply to explore your own region more deeply, it’s always worth hopping on your bike and pedaling!
